Jamaica gets ‘Reggae to rumble’ at the island’s largest outdoor music festival: Reggae Sumfest 2013
Missed out on tickets to Glastonbury or V Festival? Then put away your wellies, grab your beach gear and head to Jamaica this July for Reggae Sumfest 2013, the island’s largest outdoor music festival.
Known as the Greatest Reggae Show on Earth, Reggae Sumfest takes place from 21-27 July 2013 in Montego Bay. The week-long festival will feature an electrifying set of Jamaican Dancehall and Reggae superstars along with international headliners. Previous headline acts have included Usher and Nicki Minaj, and this year’s festival will see performances from Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Miguel, ‘King of the Dancehall’ Beanie Man, dancehall favorites Chronixx, Popcaan, and Kiprich, along with Reggae crooner Taurrus Riley.
While the main acts are spread across three nights at Catherine Hall, other venues across Montego Bay will also play host to a range of key events including the opening night Beach Party at Aquasol Beach Park on Sunday 21 July. The musical celebrations continue on Thursday with the famed Dancehall Night, followed by International Nights on Friday and Saturday.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.ReggaeSumfest.com, costing from £20 – £36 (US $30 – $55) per person, per night and from £70 ($105) for weekend tickets.
